ANNA HOYLE

Anna Hoyle
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Inspired by my habits of collecting everyday objects and weird nic-nacs, these recent ink drawings and digital prints are a playful response to an overload of consumer clutter.
I have both a love and a disdain for the excesses of our material culture. Where the pleasures of material indulgence are tainted by social and environmental costs, I see a dialectical or problematic existence with our world of stuff. However, I believe that an exploration of the aesthetic and symbolic qualities of our material culture can highlight the curious aspects of a world brimming with material excess.
