As a multimedia artist, Joe Felber enjoys exploring new territories and pushing boundaries between painting, drawing, photography, screen-printing and audio-video installation.
His fascination for colour, layering and juxtaposing figures, urban scenes or abstract landscapes create a rich and diverse collection of work. In this new body of work, Felber brings together contrasting studies of urban landscapes and scenes, using paint as well as drawing and photography. This series brings into play the vibrant energy of cities and contemporary urban compositions.
Joe Felber was born in Sursee, Switzerland. He moved to Australia in 1980 and has been living and working between both countries ever since, exhibiting worldwide with exhibitions held in Australia, Germany, Holland, Italy, Austria, USA, Singapore, China and New-Zealand. His work has been acquired by most of Australia’s prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), the Art Gallery of NSW, the National Gallery VIC, the Art Gallery of WA and the Queensland Art Gallery, and is part of many international collections.
