MARIKA BORLASE

Marika Borlase
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Marika Borlase examines contemporary culture with wry visual imagery. Using heightened colour and a complex overlay of patterns, her landscapes and urban environments mirror western society's manias and aspirations. These works ask questions about the meaning of being an individual in a world bombarded with images of success, from the subtly personal to the overtly commercial.

Borlase is represented in a range of public and private collections including Artbank, BHP Billiton, The London Institute, the National Gallery of Victoria and Wynn Casino, Macau.
