In his new collection, John Waters weaves gardens, buildings, models, everyday objects and skyscapes in framed and layered compositions to create a calm imaginary world. The works form a threshold to ephemeral locations almost dreamlike in nature.
Exquisite layers of oil paint and pigment are painstakingly applied to deliver compelling surface finishes of luminous visual richness.
John Waters originally trained as an architect and practiced in this field for fifteen years before returning to study and has been practicing art full-time since 2000. He is a graduate of Adelaide Central School of Art and in 2009 was a finalist in the Calleen Art Award. His work features in private collections nationally and internationally.
